Manifesto

GoodCore Records was founded in 2005 to embody the ideals we hold about what music should be and what it should mean. How it should be culturally relevant bringing about new ideas and new thoughts, a new perspective on your life. Music is art and should be treated, created, and handled with that in mind. These are the core beliefs driving GoodCore Records. These are the core beliefs driving our passion for music. These are the beliefs driving us to bring you the music we believe in and we hope makes you as passionate about music as we are.

This passion will always point us in the right direction. Therefore, we only back the music we believe in completely and whole-heartedly. We will never release anything we do not back all the way. This is the only attitude we believe is fair for both the creator and the listener.

We believe in vinyl and giving away test pressings because those things are fucking cool. Before we go too much farther, we also believe in cussing up a bloody storm. If you can't handle that you best get on your way now. We believe that DIY isn't a way, its the only way. We believe punk isn't a way you dress or a mohawk its an attitude; an attitude of unrelenting individuality. We believe in digital because anything that brings the music to the people is a good thing. And fuck it, anything that screws with major label douche bags can't be bad. We believe that listening to Bruce Springstein and Elton John can be cool but either way its not un-punk to do so. If you like it it would be un-punk not to do so. We believe emo is good, not about wussy boy 14 year-old over dramatic cocks listening to Dashboard Confessional. We believe Victory Records is a major label. We believe straight edge is fine but hurting people because they drink is fucking stupid.
